With Nov. 2 rapidly approaching and many Black Americans fearing a rehash of the last general election, Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry hooked up in Florida with the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton who linked this election to the nation’s ongoing civil rights struggle. “We have an unfinished march in this nation,” Kerry told some 300 congregants at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, as they waved fans with his campaign slogan, “Hope is on the way.” “Never again will a million African Americans be denied the right to exercise their vote in the United States of America,” Kerry added, in referring to the disputed 2000 presidential elections in Florida, in which Bush won
by 537 votes.
