By BARATO BRITT Recorder Correspondent Few can argue that the Indianapolis Colts possess one of, if not the best offense in the National Football League. It’s hard to imagine that an offense that put up over 5,800 total yards and almost 28 points per game last year could get better. But it appears the Colts have done exactly that. In keeping its solid offensive unit together, most notably resigning league Co-MVP Peyton Manning during the off-season, the Colts offense looks to improve on last year’s production in a big way. Opposing defenses will again have the ominous task of trying to slow down the Colts highpowered stable of horses, all primed to make their marks again this season. Barring injury, the Colts have an excellent opportunity to uproot Kansas

City as the league’s top offense, despite a schedule that includes menacing defenses like the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. With so many options to choose from, head coach Tony Dungy and the Colts coaching staff are in a position to be envied around the league. While many teams are scrambling to shore up quality personnel on the offensive end, the Colts possess a surplus at almost every position. These days, Dungy and offensive coordinator Tom Moore find themselves worrying less about filling voids and more about keeping each of their offensive weapons involved on any given Sunday. “We’ve got a lot of good players, and all our guys want to contribute,” Dungy said. “In terms of being satisfied, they’ll probably never be satisfied with the number of times they get the ball.
