IMAX ‘Santa vs. the Snowman* coloring contest What would you do with a 3-foot-tall, 68pound solid chocolate Santa? One lucky winner of the "Santa vs. the Snowman" coloring contest will get to decide the chocolate Santa's fate. The contest is sponsored by the IMAX Theater at the Indiana State Museum in connection with the holiday film "Santa vs. the Snowman (3D)." The IMAX Theater invites children under 12 to submit official entries featuring a scene from the film. Official entry forms are available at the IMAX Theater, online at www.lmaxlndy.com and in the December issue of Indy's Child. All entries must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19. They may be dropped off at the theater or mailed to: Santa vs. the Snowman 3D Coloring Contest, IMAX Theater, 650 W. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204. IU Soul Revue The Indiana University Soul Revue will take place at the Madame Walker Theatre, 617 Indiana Ave., Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $27 for adults and $20 for students with their ID at the theater or at any Ticketmaster location. Tis the Season art market The Indianapolis Art Center and the NCAA Hall of Champions will offer Indianapolis a unique shopping opportunity just in time for the holidays with the first-ever 'Tis the Season art market on Dec. 5-6 at the NCAA Hall of Champions on 700 W. Washington St. The event will feature 60 artists from throughout the Midwest. Hours are from noon-7 p.m. Dec. 5 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 6. Tickets are $7 each and are available at the door. Free admission is given to children 12 and under. Guests may also choose to buy a combo ticket for $8 which includes admittance to ‘Tis the Season art market and the Eiteljorg's Winter Market.
Donavan Hartwell calendar Donavan Hartwell released a 2004 calendar with pictures of the professional bodybuilder for each month. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the calendar will assist Hartwell in his quest to continue to represent Team USA and other national competitions. Indy MP3 Project lndianapolismusic.net has partnered with the Indianapolis Cultural Development Commission, radio station WTTS and Indy's Music Channel to produce, promote and distribute the Indy MP3 Project. The project will put the works of 100 of Indianapolis' top music artists on a single CD. The disc, which will be free of charge, is due for release in the first quarter of 2004. All Central Indiana-based musicians are eligible to submit works for consideration. There is no cost to submit, and music will be accepted until Dec. 31. For more information visit www.indymp3.com. Indianapolis Opera Overture Having just completed Donizetti's "The Elixir of Love,” the second production of its 28 th season, Indianapolis Opera embarks on a new production - Indianapolis Opera Overture - a radio program exploring the many facets of the art of opera. Broadcast weekly during the 2003-04 season of Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcasts beginning Dec. 6 on WICR-FM, Indianapolis Opera Overture will air 30 minutes before the scheduled Saturday afternoon broadcast of the Metropolitan Opera. The 22 episodes hosted by Michael Sells of Butler University's Jordan College of Fine Arts will focus on Indianapolis Opera singers and productions with recorded excerpts, interviews with lead singers and production personnel and segments to inform and educate listeners about the intricacies of the world of opera locally, regionally and nationally. Broadcast times may vary depending on the starting time of the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts.
