God has made him that, and I’m proud of his success.” Gospel industry figures, various radio figures, and fans of gospel music selected the inductees through mail-in-ballots and via the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Web site (www.gmhf.org). Fans were invited to vote for up to 10 individuals, groups, choirs, radio personalities and promoters who have contributed at least 25 years to the growth and development of gospel music and entertainment. Bishop Scott, 55, and a partner formed Tyscot Records in 1976, a label that has included such wellknown artists as John P. Kee, the

But Bishop Scott said he never expected Tyscot to reach its current level of success, noting that the venture started out as a hobby and form of ministry that grew into a full business. “Tyscot was formed because we were simply trying to put a church choir record out at the time, that was the fullest extent of it,” he stated. “But other artists quickly approached us with request to use the record label. A quartet from Anderson named Truth and Devotion arrived first, and they were followed by groups such as

But Jesus is a winner, and when you get with a winner victory is ensured.” Because of Potter and Clay’s rapid expansion, however, more funds are needed to keep the nonprofit 501c3 organization running. dost* to Gotl. In order for any relationship to grow anil prosper. there must beeomtminieation. So, beef up vour prayer life. How can we pray continually? 1 lere are some suggest ions on how to add more prayer to your day: (1) Say the lord’s Praycral least three times a day: break fast, lunch and dinner. (2) Pray the prayerofJahe/ (1 Chronicles 4: .9,10) twice daily. Put it on your mirror anil around your home to remind you to pray. (3) At every stoplight, breathe in (inhale) by calling on the Lord. Ivxhale by asking him to do something. For example: Inhale - “Father, in the nameof Jesus... Fxhale - grant me continual favor.” You may add your favorite way to address God and whatever you are requesting. Repeat it every time you are at a stoplight. (4) Find one place in your home or office and designate it as your prayer corner. Maybe it will be a chair and a lamp, maybe just space. Pray every time in that same place. You will find it will cut down on the time it takes toget into the presence of God. (5) Practice silent prayer. Put a note pad near you to jot down things that come to your mind. Clearyour mind and concentrate on Almighty God. You may want to get a phrase to repeat over and over. (6) Purchase a timer and plan to pray fora period oftime, increasing it as you progress. You may want to start off with 15 minutes. Increase the time to one hour. Add in songs and Scripture reading. (7) Start a prayer chain by
calling someone on 3 way and have that personeal I someone else until you have several people on the line to pray together about concerns. Remember, One can pul 1,000 to (light and two 10,000 demonic spirits. (8) Writeout a special prayer lot each of your family members and give it to them to read daily. (9) Research the Scriptures and identity several Scriptures related to a situation in your life and develop it into a pray er. Pray that prayer several times a day. (10) Purchase a hook of prayers and pray for different people by placing their names in the prayer. Don’t forget to pray for thi* leaders. I have learned through completing one unit of chaplaincy at Methodist Hospital and from being in ministry since 1994, we can pray all we want, but the person receiving prayer must want the same thing. Also we are not to pray our will. We ask the person their desires for prayer, keeping our opinions and disagreements out of the picture and end with the Lord’s will he done. Lord, if you are in agreement, please grant this request something that acknowledges the fact that it’s all in his hands. We don’t need to worry about what will happen, whether the request will be granted ... that’s not our part. That’s God’s part. We are to pray and believe God will do the rest. Billy Graham said, when we pray for someone, an angel is dispatched to sit on his or her shoulder. Send an angel to someone you love today. Pray for them. Prayer does change things! Rev. Jacquelyn Powell is pastor of Augusta Christian Church (I Hsciplcs of Christ).
