The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership, and protect the health and safety of the Utility employees by maintaining an effective system of management for contractors and customers which includes developing and implementing policies: adhering to federal state and local regulations, and coordinating and monitoring vanous health and safety programs. In addition, the candidate will supervise and exercise employee development and performance management skills including training, time management and scheduling work assignments; examine and develop re-engineering operations/procedures and hazard control designs and programs, and formulate policies and implement new strategies and procedures. This position also includes measuring auditing and evaluating the effectiveness of safety and hazard control programs. The candidate will also pattu ipate in continuing education and training programs to stay current with new technologies, changes in laws and regulations and changes in the workforce. Bachelor of Science Degree (Master's preferred) from an accredited college u\ university required. Courses of study in Environmental Health, Biomedical Safety. Industrial Hygiene of related field are preferred. Knowledge of OSHA and related government regulations (i.e. 00 DOT, etc.), and knowledge of chemical/hazardous waste, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental health standards are also required Qualifications preferred, but not required are: Minimum of 5 years of industrial hygiene background or equivalent; minimum of 5 years management experience in a manufacturing, constriu non and/or steam plant environment at a Utility, and prior working relationship irv union enyfonment or with collaborative bargaining agreements. In addition., experience working with a re< ogruzed safetyprogram (i.e. BST. Dupont Stop, eti.i and CSP add/dr CUSA certifications .preferred.
