Staff Report Martina Andrea Jackson, a North Central High School senior, was crowned the 2003 Ms. CocaCola Circle City Classic at the 18th annual Classic Coronation Sunday before a large, enthusiastic crowd at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. Jackson was one of 26 contestants, from 11 high schools, who participated in this annual Classic event w hich honors and recognizes young African-American women for their academic achievement, community involvement and their
desire to excel. The newly crowned Ms. Circle City Classic will be joined by her court which consists of first run-ner-up Krystal Lee Roberts, a Perry Meridian High School senior, and second runner-up Amber Thomas, a senior at North Central. Jackson will reign over various Coca-Cola Circle City Classic events, including the Black College Fair and the Coaches Luncheon. She, her court and the other participants will ride in Oct 4 Circle City Classic Parade. J ackson will present trophies to

A large crowd of citizens, clergy and federal, state and local government officials gathered near the west steps of the Indiana Statehouse Friday to celebrate the life of Governor Frank O'Bannon, who died Sept. 13 after suffering from a massive stroke. Another service was held the following day In his hometown of Corydon.
