Black Expo's Family Fun FesF will be June 6-8
Indiana Black Expo held its third annual Family Fun Fest at the State Fairgrounds in June 2002. The Invitational Black Rodeo, thrilled audiences as Black cowboys entertained the crowd with fast moving action. More than 500 families turned out for the event to enjoy some down home fun.
Special to The Recorder Indiana Black Expo Inc. will hold its 4th Annual Family Fun Fest at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the second year. The Family Fun Fest, June 68, will bring together a variety of interests and activities for all ages. A festival favorite, DNR Productions will present the National Black Invitational Championship Rodeo as Black cowboys and cowgi rls compete to wi n various titles from cow roping champions to rodeo relay champions. The participants of the rodeo come from all over the United States to showcase their talents and skills. This year’s activities also include: • Friday Night Boxing by RAQ Entertainment. — • Carnival and Midway - June 6, 5 to 11 p.m.; June 7, noon -11 p.m., and June 8, noon - 11 p.m. The rodeo will take place at 5 p.m. June 7 and June 8. • St. Alban’s Little League All Star Tournament. • Free Entertainment Stage. • Parade and entertainment stage featuring African Stilt Walkers, African-American Antique Car Club and more. • The Slam Jam Basketball
Tournament sponsored by Radio One. The 5-on-5 street ball tournament hosted by WHHH FM’s Chop Shop Disc Jockeys. • The Car and Truck Super Show presented by Tillman’s Car and Truck Accessories. It will showcase over 300 trucks, custom cars, low-riders and a variety
of makes and models from all over the Midwest. • Marion County Health Department - Mini Health Fair, June 7 and 8, noon to 6 p.m. • Exhibits by Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians & Western Art; Underground Railroad Freedom Center(Cincinnati); Marion County Public Library and many more. Rev. Charles Williams, president of Indiana Black Expo, said, “IBE is known for bringing quality family programs.
