The Division of University Advancement Invites Applications and nominations for the position of Director of Planned Giving. The Division of University Advancement encompasses University Development. Alumni Affairs. Marketing/ University Relations. Public Affairs. Administrative Communications. Publications, and the ISU Foundation. This position reports to the assistant vice president for University Development, and will be responsible for planning and managing the University's planned giving program. To support this effort, the director should be knowledgeable of planned gift Instruments and techniques as well as the tax consequences of such gifts. A knowledge of computer Information systems and database capabilities to support the work of planned giving would be helpful. The director will help enhance the marketing plan for planned giving as well as the policies and procedures to support the fund-raising work of University Development. Accordingly, the director will have an Important role in coordinating the planned gift work of other University Development officers and feel comfortable working with members of the faculty and administration on planned gift opportunities. In addition, the director will help coordinate the gift recording, acknowledgement, and stewardship process pertaining to planned gifts. In order to carry out the duties and responsibilities, the director will be expected to travel accordingly to meet with donors and prospective donors about gift opportunities which could benefit the donor and Indiana State University. Qualifications for this position Include: a bachelor's degree, advanced degree desirable: appropriate experience In development work with non-profit organizations, preferably college or university development work: good analytical, planning, and communications skills: and a working knowledge of planned giving techniques and computers as they relate to planned giving work Experience with capital campaigns would be a plus.
