Christmas Gift ft Hobby Show opens Nov. 13 The Christmas Gift & Hobby Show is Nov. 13 -17 in the Indiana State Fairgrounds’ newly renovated West Pavilion and has all the entertainment and unique gift ideas visitors have come to expect. With more than 350 booths displaying everything from gourmet food and floral designs to leather goods and ATVs, the Christmas Gift & Hobby Show is a four-acre adventure land the entire family can enjoy. Kids can talk with Santa or play at Education World’s Children’s Play Space while Mom and Dad collect cooking tips or browse around inside the newly designed Old Towne Shoppes. General admission to the show is $7 for adults and $6 for seniors. Children 12 and under are admitted free. One-dollar coupons are available at all Kroger stores. Show hoursare 10a.m. to9p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. ‘The Lion King’ to play at IMAX Theater Disney’s “The Lion King” will be seen as never before when it debuts on the giant IMAX Theater screen on Christmas Day. The film will run through April 10. “The Lion King” first was re-
leased in 1994. but has been reformatted specifically for the giant IMAX screen using the film’s original digital elements. With its compelling story, beautiful animation, colorful characters. Oscar-winning music (songs by Elton John and Tim Rice; score by Hans Zimmer), the film follows the adventures of a young lion named Simba, who can ’ t wait to be king. Indiana Historical Society to hold annual history conference The Indiana Historical Society is hosting its 82nd annual history conference titled ’’Exploration and Discovery" Nov. 2 at 8 a.m. at 450 W. Ohio St. The conference will feature keynote speaker Gary Moulton’s talk on “The Seven Habits of Some Highly Effective Explorers,” and first-person re-enactor Patrick Lee portraying William Clark and Thomas Jefferson.
