Ready for the coming school year
Staff Report With the opening of Planner House Charter School rapidly approaching, the Planner House facility is getting a facelift as volunteers are giving the classrooms a fresh coat of paint and some much needed sprucing up for the coming school year. Cynthia Diamond, executive director of Planner House, said, “I can’t believe that opening day is only a month away— Tuesday Sept. 3 We fire looking forward to seeing the parents and new students.” Interested parents may pick up and/or fill out their applications at Planner House, 2424 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St.

TeamUp scholarship winners announced
Pacers Foundation Inc. has announced its five scholarship recipients for the Pacers TeamUp Scholarship presented by Miller Lite. The TeamUp Scholarship recognizes Indiana high school seniors for their outstanding service to the community. Through the TeamUp Scholarship, the Pacers Foundation awards five $2,000 scholarships, which can be used at any accredited four-year college or two-year community or

Class of *92 reunion The Arsenal Technical High School class of 1992 will host its 10-year reunion activities Aug. 23 - 24. A Tech Family Fun Day will kick-off the reunion weekend. It will be held at Sahm’s Park in the Corporate Pavilion from 4-8 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. On Aug. 24, at 6 p.m.,. the class of 1992 reunion will be at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in the Farm Bureau Building. The casual dress reunion will include a buffet dinner and a cash bar. Honor for local resident Brittany Joy Turner of Carmel was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2002 semester at Johns Hopkins University. To be selected for this honor, a student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Turner is the daughter of Debra and Stephen Turner and attended Carmel High School. Turner graduated in May 2002 with a double major in political science and anthropology receiving general honors. Foundation will give away supplies The TM Youth Foundation will host a community “Back 2 School Bash” Aug. 16, from 7-9 p.m. at the Turning Point Family Worship Center parking lot, 4501 Post Road. This festival will be a school supply and clothing giveaway. Everyone is invited. Supplies are for the students, but everyone can enjoy the food, fon, music and fellowship.
