North of Indianapolis honored their graduates. Each high school graduate was awarded $1,750 dollars. Returning college students were given $1,200. Deacon Joe Slash is the outgoing chairman, and Mrs. Tina Foster, a local celebrated educator, will be assuming the leadership of the committee later this year. Graduates honored July 21 include: Middle School students: DeRon Brown, Jordan Reece Cheatham, Michael Conley, Dallas Green, Demi Motley, Ellisa Oyewo, Everett Scisney, Candace Shockley, Garrison Snowden and Damon Wiseman. Estelle Thomas Harris Mrs. Estelle Thomas Harris, 90, died July 7. She had worked ten years for the Juvenile Center; ten years for Noble School; and with the Foster Grandparent Program; and the Marion County Fairgrounds for ten years. Mrs. Harris was a member of Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church; she received many awards and certificates for outstanding performances and volunteer work for numerous civic organizations. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Hendricks; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one greatgreat grandchild; one brother, John Thomas; four sisters, Ella Mitchell, Mattie Martin, Margaret Anderson and Madie Goens.

Sister Donna Lois Jenkins Thomas Sister Donna Lois Jenkins Thomas, daughter of the lale Franklin D Jenkins and Lula L Sanford was born June 9. 1941 in Indianapolis She received her clcinemary education in (he Indianapolis Public School 56 and Crispus Altucks High School She was employed by Ford Motor Company as a Cashier in Ihc dietary Department She retired after 20 years of service. She was united in marriage to John Henry Thomas. October 15. 1977 He preceded her in death on April 6. 1997. Desiring a closer walk with the Lord she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1980. Sister Donna Thomas became a member of Si Timothy COG 1C in 1980 She was the first member to join the church, and instrumental in getting her friend Glenda Evans to come She is now the Church Mother Sister Thomas stayed with the church through the years, supporting the church with her presence and finance She was truly a pillar of the church She served on the Trustee Board, was a Sunday school leach and YPWW Chatrlady for Calvary District. She also organized Mother Day and Father Day offerings just so the Pastor and Wife could enjoy these special days. She remained faithful to her church until her health prevented her from attending On Tuesday.
