Veteran ‘60s singer Sam Moore, of the legendary soul duo Sam & Dave, is slated to make his solo debut next month with a collection of unreleased tunes he recorded over 30 years ago. ‘ ‘Plenty Good Lovin': The Lost Solo Album” is made up of 10 songs recorded in the early ‘70s. Many of the songs cover versions of songs by other artists. Highlights include “Shop Around,” composed by Smokey Robinson and Berry Gordy for the Miracles, “Get Out of My Life, Woman,” written by Allen Toussaint for Lee Dorsey, aid Little Johnny Taylor’s deep blues hit ‘Pat Tune Love,” penned by Clay Hammond. Moore wrote the title trade, “Plenty Good Lovin’.” They cay Ludacris lyric did the trick A San Antonio jury recently found Jeremy Rodriguez, 19,guilty ofldlling two cousins. The DA says he was inspired to do so by a Ludacris lyric. Prosecutors say Rodriguez shot and killed cousins Paul Gallegos. 21, and Daniel Gallegos, 20, for their money, jewelry and SUV after being influenced by a rap song. D.A. Emily Angulo, refuted Rodriguez’s claims that the killings were part of a Mexican Mafia hit, carried out by a mysterious character named “Sleqjy,” whom the cousins picked up on the side of the road in August of 2001. Instead, Angulo claimed, Rodriguez bragged to two associates about the shootings. Angulo said that that as Rodriguez rode in the back seat of the SUV, a rap song by Ludacris came on the radio, which persuaded him to pull the trigger and murder the two men. Mora of Michaol vs. Mottola The latest in the Mkhael vs. Mottola battle is concerning questions about Jackson’s charity single that was supposed to come out late last year in support of the victims of the 9/11 tragedy. The song, “What More Can I Give,” was shelved by Sony Musk, headed by Tommy Mottola The label’s spin on the issue, The Fox 411 and LA. Tunes reports, is that the single wasn’t released because gay pomo video director F. Marc Schaffel was theexecutive directorofthe project. If itain’tone thing, it’sanother. Fox, and several industryites, believe that Sony just plain didn’t and doesn’t want “What More”to be released. Jackson’s peeps say Sony didn’t want the single to compete with “Invincible.” Furthermore, Jackson, who had committed to the project and recruited heavy-hitters Celine Dion, Rkky Martin, Gloria Estefan and Desdny’sChild for the track, had to borrow money to actually put the song on wax, since Sony decided against it Domestic trouble for Hallo Halle Berry.
