Local Black entrepreneurs hold first custom car show on city’s Northside
By JIM BUNTIN Staff Writer If you were driving on the Northside of Indianapolis last Sunday and noticed all the festivities and custom cars in the parking lot of the West 86 ,h Street Wal-Mart, then you were witness to the first Dub Fest held and sponsored in part by two local Black businesses. Fettie Boys Record Productions and Enterprise Entertainment put this year's Dub Fest together and three young Black men from those two companies put the nuts and bolts to this project and brought the event together. M. Lomax of Enterprise Entertainment, Sean Williams of Fettie Boys Record Productions and chief promoter of this year's event David Smith. Although this is the first Dub Fest event, they have already received offers for sponsors to host the event next year. The top award was a $l ,000 cash prize and a $ 100 prize for best car. There were also first, second, and third place trophies awarded to the winners of the competitions.

^ This car Is a 1985 300 ZX. Charles Daulton has been working on this beauty for 10 years. He has been competing with the car since 1997. It is mostly a custom paint project and has a mostly stock engine. His radical design won him much admiration at Dub Fest 2002.

Music Payne proudly shows his 2002 Road King Classic custom Harley-Davidson. Music says his Harley is a limited edition production number and is No. 6 of only 200 produced. He has added $10,000 worth of chrome accessories to complete the effect. He credits Fat Hoggs of Indy on West Washington, for completing the paint job and putting the whole thing together.

This 1994 S-10 Chevy pick-up belongs to Curtis Marsh aka “Chopper” from Bedford, Ind. Chopper has also competed in many show events including this year’s Dub Fest. His truck will be featured in the December issue of Mini Truckin’ Magazine.
Albert Nance and his wife Cheryl proudly display their 1991 Pontiac Sunbird. His car was recently featured in Low-rider Magazine. He and his wife designed the car together and have competed at many different events.
