Indiana Black Expo, Inc. announced this month the awarding of $49,000 in scholarships to 47 Indiana resident students pursuing a higher education. “Education is key,” said Rev. Charles Williams, president of Indiana Black Expo. “As with many of IBE programs, we focus on our youth within the community. The scholarships awarded to these students are well deserved.” The IBE Scholarship Program is designed to recognize students who are Indiana residents and have attained outstanding scholastic achievement; shown unusual artistic/creative promise; or demonstrated talents in the technical/vocational arts. The scholarships are payable upon the recipient’s full-time enrollment in a post-secondary institution. High school seniors, undergraduate students and graduate students are eligible to apply.
