QUEENS Continued from A1 tour, which rolled through Indy last summer, the four comedy divas tackle money, sex and relationships between men and women. Sisters, open your ears, and brothers, watch out. In “The Queens of Comedy,” they don’t sing it, they bring it — with a force so strong it rivals their male counterparts The Kings of Comedy (Cedric The Entertainer, Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley and Bemie Mac). In the words of Sommore, the first female host of BET Comic View, “I don’t want to know if you can ‘blingbling,’ but can you swing swing!” The show will have you swinging all over the house laughing hysterically. Especially when Laura Hayes takes a trip to the beauty parlor with her “monkey feet” asking to have a fake fingernail placed on her big toe. Even Richard Pryor would have been brought to tears by Sommore’s dream she had about fighting Monica Lewisky at the gates of heaven. And Redd Foxx would have been proud to hear Adele Givens explain how she feels about the singing group TLC and how to keep your self-esteem intact. Although the “Queens of Comedy” uses language more associated with a maximum security prison courtyard, don’t let these
ladies fool you. They might talk trashy, but these comedians bring up issues the Black community needs to address. For instance, Givens told Black women to stop using celebrities as the benchmark for beauty. “Those [women] ain’t real. They are not made from the same stuff you and I arfe made of,” said Givens. “And 1 don’t understand it, why

buy (breasts) when you got socks at home.” Mo’Nique backs up Givens in the show’s final performance. The star of UPN’s “The Parkers” said that Black women have nothing to be ashamed of just because they appear overweight. The best part about the “Queens of Comedy” is you won’t have to wait in long lines for popcorn before it starts.
