Upcoming, the notoriously, rambunctious funny man will star in two new movies — the sobering drama “Requiem for a Dream” and the fantasy adventure “Dungeons and Dragons." “Both of these films were a turn on for me because they offered me the chance to play different types of characters,” says Wayans about his new films. “In ‘Requiem’ I play this young brother who even in the face of large obstacles refuses to give up hope, while in ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ I team up with a group of adventurers to foil the plans of an evil wizard. “One of the things I like most about being an actor is that it allows me to test new ideas that challenge my abilities and keeps my work fresh. However, my involvement in these projects should by no means give anyone the idea that I’m moving away from my family. We have all taken on projects away from the family, and these particular films seemed pretty cool to me,” he said.

Wayans expects to be very fresh when he rejoins his brothers to shoot the sequel to “Scary Movie.” Slated to begin production this fall, Marlon predicts that the next “Scary Movie” will get even more laughs than the first. “I’m really excited about the next installment,” he said. “This new film is going to make the first one look like child’s play. The fact that we’re doing a sequel means that we can make fun of the first movie, and because all of the money the first film made we’ll be able to create some action sequences that are going to blow your mind. “Just leave it up to me and my brothers. The next ‘Scary Movie’ is going to be a tough act to beat," he said. Short takes: ^ Queen Latifah is working on a “race reality" project to be shot like the Real World where participants openly discuss the issues of race.
