Persian Temple No. 46 celebrates 100 years

The Nobles of Persian Temple

No. 46 and the Daughters of Persian Court No. 24 are preparing to roll out the "red carpet" for their 100 year celebration. The gala celebration is scheduled for Dec, 8,9 and 10, at Persian Temple No. 46 located at 1802 E. 23rd St. The general public and fraternal organizations are encouraged to come our and be a part of the celebra-

Illustrious Potentate of Persian Temple No. 46, Noble Herman files Jr., and Illustrious Commandress of Persian Court No. 24, daughter Dorothy Bodie, share thehistory of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine from its inception in 1893. After reorganizing as Prince Hall Affiliation in 1900, Shriner's continued in both North and South America and its Jurisdictions Inc. Over the last 100 years, Shriners and Daughters have participated in community activities, parades, acts of charity, and awarded scholar-

Midtown Writer’s creative writing workshop Midtown Writer’s Association conducts a bi-monthly creative writing workshop on the first and third Monday of each month at the Library Services Center, 2450 N. Julian Center Guild membership drive The Julian Center Guild is seeking women with an interest in the issue of domestic violence. Formed five years ago, the Julian Center Guild coordinates fund raisers and raises community awareness of the Julian Center. A membership drive will be held on Sept. 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Julian Center’s Counseling Center. Women-interested in receiving more information about the guild are invited to attend and enjoy tea and hors d’oeuvres. Health license plate The new ‘To Your Health” motor vehicle license plate is one of the top selling new specialty license plates in Indiana. Proceeds from the plate benefit an array of state health organizations. Of the $37 paid for each plate, $12 covers the state administration fee, and $25 goes to the fiscal agent, the Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis, which ensures that all proceeds are equally divided among the nine organizations. ‘Wings of Love’ to have fund-raiser Sept 16 JT’S HAND - A Neonatal Fund will have its 4th annual “Wings of Love” fund-raising event on Sept. 16 at 6;30 p.m. at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.
