Indiana Historical Society hosting a variety of summer activities Summer offers the promise of life at a more leisurely pace, a less hectic schedule that allows for long days with little to do. If that is the case, no one told the Indiana Historical Society. The society has released its extensive list of summer activities that promise action through the dog days of August. The programs, designed for various ages, offer Hoosiers opportunities to discover hidden facts about family photos, see a children's theater production, watch film programs about Indiana’s history and listen to stories about the Hoosier state. “This will be our first full summer in our new headquarters,” said Trina Nehon Thomas, director of education and public programming. “With the new facility, we wanted to expand our reach into the community and offer things people of all ages and interest levels could enjoy. We hope people will take advantage of these summer programs and get to know more about Indiana history.” “Providing fun, educational programs highlighting Indiana’s rich history is one of the important ways the society fulfills its mission,” said Nelson Thomas. “These programs can be enjoyed be the whole family, all summer long.” Most Indiana Historical Society summer activities are free and do not require advance registration. For more information about any Indiana Historical Society educational programming, please contact Carrie Johnson at (317) 233-5659 or see the society’s Web site at w w w. indianahi story .org YOUTH PROGRAMS
