Mrs. Gora H. (Tillis) Cluke Jessup,

74, Indianapolis, died April 26 at St. Vincent Hospital. She had worked as a production worker for a diamond chain. She retired in 1973 after 22 years. Mrs. Jessup was a member of Mount Vernon Community Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by one son. Rev. Anthony M. Jessup; two daughters, Betty Jo Lively and Stephany Merri weather, six grandchildren; great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Jean Roberts. Mrs. Evelyn Geneva (Wells) Malone Mrs. Evelyn Geneva (Wells) Malone, 32, Indianapolis,*died April 23 at St Vincent Hospital. She had been employed by the Social Security Administration as a district manager for 30years. Mrs. Malone wasa member of The Church of the Living God and Saints of Christ where she served as Sunday school teacher, founder, writer, director of the Comer Stone Players Drama Group. She is survived by two sons, Sean A. Malone and Brandon Malone; mother, Sallie Mae Millie Wells; six brothers. Rev. John Wells, Rev. Robert Wells, PastorRoger Wells, Elder Charles Wells, Missionary Larry Wells and Deacon Julius Wells; one sister, Ethel Wells.

Mrs. Carolyn L Burris Baker Mrs. Carolyn L. Burris Baker, 49, Indianapolis, died April 26. She had been a Cardiology Technician at St Vincent Hospital for 14 years. Mrs. Baker was a member of Community Missionaiy Baptist Church, where she had been a member of the usher board. She is survived by two daughters, Nickola Baker and Adwanna Baker, two sons, Darrell Swanigan and Derrick Swanigan; mother, Zella Shirley Burris; five sisters, Betty Holly, Deloris Burris Brown, Joyce Bunis Terrell, Doris Burris Cooke and Linda Burris; three brothers, James Burris Jr., Cecil Burris and Anthony Burris and two grandchildren. Miss Dorink Mae Stanley Miss Donnie May Stanley, 79, Indianapolis, died April 20 at Indianapolis Retirement Home. She was a selfemployed cosmetologist and beautician, she was also an entrepreneur and the owner of Donnie’s Beauty Shop, which she operated for over 40 years, until the business closed in 1989. Miss Stanley was a member of Galilee Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher for over 47 years. She is survived by one sister, Alberta Stanley White.

Mrs. Ruby Valeria (Harris) Degraphenreed Mrs. Ruby Valeda (Harris) Degraphenreed, 77, Indianapolis, died April 26 at Winona Memorial Hospital. She had worked 38 years for naval Avionics, retiring in 1988as an assembler. Mrs. Degraphenreed was a member of Northwest United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sister, Geraldine Montgomery.

Evangelist Yvonne Cassandra (Taylor) Hawkins Evangelist Y vonneCassandra (Taylor) Hawkins, 71, Indianapolis, died April 22 at St. Vincent Hospital. She had worked as a social worker for the Indiana Department of Corrections from 1951 until 1954 and with Indianapolis Public School System from 1955until 1969aswellasahomebound

students. She is survived by her husband, Shirty John Hawkins; children Samuel John Hawkins, Gertrude Ethel Hawkias, Audrey Hawkias Berden, Calvin Curtis Hawkias and Willian) Henry “Jolo’ Hawkins; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pastor Hortense Trotter and Evangelist Ethel Mae Taylor and one brother, Rudolph Taylor.

Epic recording artist Michael Speaks and new“^tomers Men In The Fire to the Murat Theatre on May “For our first gospel show we wanted to bring in these top gospel artists,” said Jeffrey Clark, one forth of the local entertainment company that consists of his brother Ricky, William Hawkins, and a silent partner. “The Indianapolis market is craving quality gospel productions and we want to take advantage of that.”

Headliner Sapp was a founding member of the group Commissioned and after spending six years with the group and Fred Hammond has since established himself as a contemporary gospel powerhouse. The multiple Grammy, Stellar and Dove Award nominee has been honored with a doctorate of divinity degree from the local Aenon Bible College recently. In keeping with the grand scale gospel production, multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer and actor Ricky Dillard will be on hand to inspire the crowd with his passionate energy. For fans that want to keep hold to his anointed voice Dillard’s new album is set to be released in July. “I'm very exited about the acts that are coming, together they represent a quality production offering a mix of traditional and contemporary gospel,” says Clark. “There is something for everybody as Sapp will draw in the mature audiences and Ricky and Michael Speaks drawing in the younger crowd.”

community.

David received the degree along with 54 others in commencement ceremonies highlighted by an address from Rev. Virgilio Elizondo, a Catholic theologian
