CIVICS Continued from A1 Students also got the opportunity to watch as the Senate Education Committee met. Among the bills on which students and parents saw discussed included the Indianapolis Public Schools voucher bill, sponsored by Sen. Luke Kenley. Ironically, the bill would affect the schools on hand, as IPS vouchers could increase the population of students attending these non-pub-lic schools. According to North Star Christian Academy Principal Pastor Ken Sullivan, his students and parents were excited about the unique ex-

ercise.

“This event will help us educate our children as to the workings of our political system,” Sullivan said. “It will help our children understand how laws are made and the whole process behind it. “We’re all enthusiastic about this," he added. “The kids are ready to go.” . • .
