The image of Jonathan Butler is one of class. Sitting on a stool, onstage with his guitar and making just as many people say, “Dat boy can sang,” as there were saying, “Dat boy can play that guitar.” Either way, his multifaceted skills always seemed to shine through. (He can dance his butt off too!) We ran into Jonathan backstage at the Essence Music Festival (yeah, we did run into a whole lotta people there, didn’t we?) and he didn’t talk much about his music.
