will prepare the paperwork and submit an invoice directly to the title company, to be paid at closing. If you don’t make special arrangements, then you’re expected to pay that in advance as well at a cost of roughly $300-$400. So, even if you’ve negotiated a very good offer and the seller is paying your closing costs, plus your down payment will not be from your funds, you still need to hold approximately $750-$1,000 to make the process work smoothly and to pay the expenses I’ve discussed. You will receive credit for these atclosing. You’ll very likely receive a check at closing.
I’m aware that there are ways to juggle things so the buyer spends less out-of-pocket during the process, but I write this column based on what’s typical and I try to apply the “common sense” factor on a regular basis. You need the money “NOW.” It’s still not too late to get into your new home by Christmas. plan sponsors. It manages about 300 million prescriptions for 56 million members and employs about 2,600 people. Its purchase is the first by a drugstore chain of a major prescription manager. Martin Grass, Rite Aid’s chairman and chief executive officer, called the deal “a winwin for the consumer and a winwin for the managed-care payors.” He said new technology will enhance the delivery of prescription drugs to patients and help reduce $75 billion a year in avoidable drug expenses. “We really look at this as making the comer drugstore the cornerstone of health-care improvement,” Grass said, adding that PCS headquarters will remain in Scottsdale and that its administrators and work force would remain essentially un-
changed. Rite Aid already has a small pharmacy benefits company. Eagle Managed Care. Grass said it will be merged into PCS and some of the 50 Eagle corporate jobs will be transferred to Scottsdale. The rest will be folded into Rite Aid. Ri;e Aid, based in Camp Hill, Pa., operates approximately about 3,900 pharmacies in Arizona and 29 other states and fills more than $6 billion worth of prescriptions each year. It has total annual sales exceeding $12 billion. Sidney Taurel, Lilly’s president and chief executive officer, said selling PCS will allow Lilly to concentrate on its core drug business. Taurel said PCS likely will perform better under a different
owner. “We view today’s announcement as being very similar to the creation of DowElanco in 1989 and Guidant in 1994-two moves that enabled businesses formerly owned by Lilly to continue to thrive while Lilly increased its focus on bringing, new pharmaceutical products to market,” Taurel said in a statement. Lilly last year sold its 40 percent stake in DowElanco, the maker of Dursban and Tracer insecticides, to partner Dow Chemical Co. for $1.2 billion. It spun off it medical device business, creating Guidant Corp., four years ago. Rite Aid said it expected to finance the deal with stock or stock-based securities. It said it has a bank commitment for $1.5 billion in place to provide backup interim financing.

A computer will do a number of tasks, it’s just a matter of figuring out which tasks you need your computer to do. Which components do you really need to run your software programs? The wrong components, or too many components, can bog down your computer and make it run less efficiently. Who is going to support the computer if it breaks down? This is a major concern for most buyers of all skill levels. Most major super stores will not service the computers that they sell. Personal attention is essential to helping each buyer, before and after the sale. How can I learn more about my computer?
