James Gilbert Franklin Township Former basketball player at Tech High School in the 1970's. A devoted husband and father of three sons, two of whom, have graduated from college and one who is a honor student in the middle school. His hobbies include, the outdoors and fishing. Mr. Gilbert is a real mentor for the Franklin Central Tigers, and African American Male group at Franklin Central High School.
Rev. Jimmie Harrington Wayne Township Rev. Harrington is veiy visible in the community working with students to help them love themselves and to live peacefully with others. He frequently monitors bus stops and intervenes to assist students needing mediation, a ride, etc. Rev. Harrington counsels students in regard to personal problems, grades, self-esteem, etc. His love, acceptance, and total dedication to the students in his community (especially at the Christamore House) is quite remarkable. Rev. Harrington is very influential in assisting, guiding, and leading students who seek him out at the Chris tamore House and in the community.
Clifford Hatcher Decatur Township Decatur Township Schools wishes to nominate Cliff Hatcher, an employee of Broadway Methodist Church. Mr. Hatcher is associated with Decatur Township through our Community Decatur Outreach Office, which is located at* Broadway Methodist Church. Mr. Hatcher's voluntary activities include mentoring the school age children in the neighborhood. He monitors students safety at the bus stops, and Mr. Hatcher encourages parent participation. Cliff also takes an active role in school sponsored activities that are held at the church. Mr. Hatcher is ready to assist in any way that encourages student success.
Tony Mason Indianapolis Public Schools Mr. Mason is the father of four students that have attended IPS Broad Ripple High School over the years. He always finds time in his busy schedule to volunteer when asked. Over the past four years, Mr. Mason has been a faithful volunteer with the Broad Ripple High School club. Men of Ripple Enhanced (MORE). Mr Mason answers the call to volunteer whenever he is asked to do so. Mr. Mason is very dependable.
