Saint John’s to host ITC Training
Presidents, vice presidents, secretaries, treasurers, committee chairman, auxiliaries heads, organization chairman and board members are invited to a Training Seminar at the Saint John’s Missionary Baptist Church at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11. The training will be provided by the members of the International Training in Communication organization. In existence since 1938, ITC has been the world’s “Best Kept Secret” while training the individual in communication and leadership skills, according to George VanSickles, incoming president of the council and member of the host unit, the Saint John’s Agap6 Communicators. “The training given at the CMT Meeting is invaluable to the volunteer individual. We provide the necessary skills that you can take back to improve the viability of the group in which you are working,” he said.
A light repast will be served at 5:30 p.m. with the session opening at 6 p.m. Concurrent workshops will occur at 6:15 p.m. for various officers and at 7:10 p.m. a workshop will discuss how to “Find them. Get them and Keep them.” This workshop, presented by Marilyn Olson, Second Story Communications, will offer strategies on developing members for your organization. The last workshop will begin at 8 p.m. and will be presented by a surprise motivational speaker. “The information disseminated at the CMT meeting will be useful to all participants, especially churches and volunteer organizations”, said Connie Patsiner, Program Education leader of Council One, Indianapolis. Lastly, I would think that a minister would realize the more conflict he stirs up, the harder the task of going into all the world to make ye disciples of men - (and women).
