For Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority’s Graduate Chapter, Alpha Sigma, highlight of the 1985 year was the pre-Holiday Founders’ Week celebration. The Alpha Sigma Philo Affiliate Club performed various community service projects, including visiting and fellowship with Senior Citizens in a local nursing home. The undergraduate chapter in the metropolitan Indianapolis area welcomed three neophyte members to Gamma Zeta Chapter: Soror Anya Lawrence, Soror Natalie Kelly, and Soror
Priscella Stewart.
Friends, Sorors, and the general public applauded in concert the gifted speaker for the Founders’ Banquet, Soror Karla D. Smith, a staff attorney with the Nuclear Regulatory ^ Commission in Washington, D.C. Attorney Smith, who has served as a Women’s Public Policy Fellow at Georgetown University, encouraged the audience to continue the heritage of commitment to the youth by working with teen-agers, assisting them in acquiring knowledge of self, self-esteem, and knowledge necesary to pursue meaningful careers for the benefit
of society. As Northeast Regional Sally Hannigan of .Butler UniversiDirector for the sorority’s Project ty.
