As the holidays draw near, most of us have high hopes Qf being together with family and friends, exchanging gifts, feeling the love and joy of the season. Some lonely people, or families barely making ends meet, come to The Salvation Army at Christmastime. The Army provides dinners, companionship, perhaps toys or warm clothing—and sometimes it helps the drifter or the troubled family to make a new start in life. Thanks to your support, The Salvation Army offers year-round programs to reach out to youngsters, families, oldsters; to the alcoholic, discharged prisoner, teenage runaway; to those in institutions and those who have no home at all. By giving to The Salvation Army, you give joy to a world that greatly needs it. SHAftlMG » CAGING

White is for innocence, purity and perfection in the Saviour, while gold is for His glory and * majesty. Symbols used include fish, dove, butterfly, cross, star, lamb, circle, triangle, angels. Combinations were used to depict various events. Mrs. Buthiyn West was project coordinator. The idea originated with Mrs. Doris Wood, inspired by a workshop dealing with such a tree. Elder Betty Inskeep was in charge of the hanging of the greens. As the lights were lowered the stately evergreen, blazing with white lights and white and gold Chrismons suspended from its branches along with glowing candles, the sanctuary became a “solace of beauty.” The ooohs and ahhhs from the audience indicated approval. The public is invited to come by 5136 North Michigan Hoad to see the 10-foot t’hrismon T ree. It will be featured at Hie candlelight communion service Christmas Eve at 7:30 p.m.
