SANFORD RAMSEY

If we knew how to listen to God and how to look at life, all life would become a sign; all life would become a prayer.^ Abbe* Michel Quoist. a French priest, wrote these words about the relationship between prayer and daily life. They introduce his book of prayers which see life as innumerable tokens of love of Creator seeking the love of his creatures. THE TELEPHONE

I have just hung up: why did he telephone? I don’t know...Oh! I get it... I talked a lot and listened very little. Forgive me, Lord; it was a monologue and not a dialogue. I explained my idea and dfd not get his; Since I didn't listen, I learned nothing. Since I didn't listen, I didn't help, Since I didn’t listen, we didn’t commune. Forgive me, Lord, for we were connected. And now we are cut off. * * *

When you join the Army Reserve, you’ll start earning about $50 for 16 hours of work a month. And more if you have prior military experience. Besides the extra income you’ll learn a skill too. For details call your local unit. It’s listed in the white pages of the phone book under “U.S. Government.”

Amrbecue IS ANYTIME

Barbecue Pleasure August is a great month to grill, especially during National Barbecue Week, August 2-11. Here are some tips from the Barbecue Industry Association on selecting accessories that will make your barbecue safe and fun. When it comes to utensils, think long handles. These let you turn the food without holding your hand over the hot coals, teep gloves or mitts near the grill too.

Memorial services for Mary Lee Hubbard Robinson, 66, were conducted July 28 in Believer’s in Christ Tabernacle, where she was assistant pastor 33 years. She died July 24 at home, 2830 Eastern. P rn in Clinton, Miss., she moved here at an early age. She was nationally recognized for her vocal renditions with the New Liberty Baptist Trio, which was later renamed the Believer's in Christ Singers. At Believer’s in Christ Tabernacle, she was Sunday School superintendent 32 years also an adult Sunday School teacher, member of the Mother’s board and senior choir. She also was an ordained evangelist, and is survived by foster daughter. Miss Roberta Dodson, of the city.

For palate-pleasing kebobs or convenient marshmallow sticks, look for chrome plated or stainless steel skewers. For parties, skewer racks double as kebob holders on the grill and table servers. Having a crowd? Make efficient use of your grill’s cooking space. Rib and potato racks hold your food compactly while extension warmers give you a second cooking grid. Every barbecue needs a rotisserie! The powered spit turns the food for you, cooking it deliciously on all sides. Grill baskets come in all shapes and siz (, s. They make turning hamburgers, fish and chicken easier. Some even do the turning for you by fitting onto the rotisserie spit. Ready for the next charcoal barbecue? Ffeep your grill sparkling clean with a wire grill brush.
