She had lived in Indianapolis 35 years before returning to Jackson, six years ago. Her place ol birth was Breathitt County, Kentucky. Mrs. Combs was a Baptist Church member. Survivors include her husband, Auston Combs; a son, Jesse J. Combs Sr., Indianapolis, and three daughters, Miss Nancy Combs, Middleton, Ohio; Mrs. Gora Combs, West Alexandria, Ohio, and Mrs. Goldie Hudson, Jackson. AIPH0NS0 WILLIS Rites for Alphonso Willis, 79, 756 W. 26th, were August 26, at Bethel AME Church, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. He died August 24, in a local nursing home. Mr. Willis worked 20 years as a crane operator for New York Central Railroad before his 1965 retirement. Born at Gallatin, Tenn., he lived here 60 years and was a Bethel Church member. He also was a member of Royal Buddies and the Masonic

Lodge.

Survivors include a son, James Michael of Texas, and daughter, Mrs. Mary L. Williams, Indianapolis.
