The blizzard is gone, but the memories linger on. This blizzard samcked us squarely between the eyes, bringing everything to a complete standstill. We need each other in our winters, and we need to be sensitive to each others needs. • • • Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Daniels are the proud parents of a baby girl named Jammie Reene. Mr. Daniels compiled the history of the F.A.C. He is now with the State Department of Public Instruction, Title E of Compensatory Education. We congratulate him on his new employment and wish him much success. * • * Mrs. Geraldine Tyler of 2002 N. Senate is the newly-elected president of the HighlandMeridian Club, which holds their monthly meetings in the F.A.C. Home. They announced that the first meeting of the club year will be held Feb. 6 in the Memorial Room of the F.A.C. Home. All residents of this section are eligible to become members. She urges your presence at this her first meeting. • • • If weather conditions will permit, the first large social affair for the month will be two wedding receptions on Saturday, Feb. 11th. The first will be that of Miss Jennie West in the Ryan Room from 1-8 p.m. and that of Weggins and Pauline Hamiton in the Aron Room from 5-9 p.m. • * • Reservations are coming in at an encouraging pace for all three of the proposed tours sponsored by the organization this coming spring and summer, including the Passion Play in Bloomington, Illinois, on Saturday, April 8th. The 7-day cruise on the Caribbean from June 24th to July 1st, and the 17-day Tour to the Orient from August 4-20th. At this early date the Passion Play and the Cruise are almost a surety. * * * Many of the affiliated clubs of the FAC are scheduled to have their meetings this coming

Some of the clubs have not been able to have a meeting so far this year. • • • Since its organization, the FAC has always rendered their Black History Week during the week of Lincoln’s Birthday in February with Mrs. Frances Howard as chairperson. This year she and her committee have joined forces to help the Mayor’s Black History Program. A full house attended the John Amos Day Banquet at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, following a reception in the speakers honor at the Atkinson Hotel. This was a lovely “Evening with John Amos.” To Mayor Hudnut, with his research committee and assistants, we express courage and diligence in creating the Mayor’s Black History Comittee. The F.A.C. is proud for being a part of the month-long celebration of the accomplishments of Blacks. * • • Happy birthday to all FAC attendance members. Our Lovers Dream Pie is creamy and smooth, pretty to look at and luscious to the taste. It’s made with Jell-0 fruit flavor gelatin, chilled and garnished with prepared whipped topping. Here, too, are a couple of instant beverages to warm the heart. Love! Lovers Dream Pie 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten 1 cup water Vi cup sugar 1 package (3 oz.) Jell-0 gelati' , any red flavor V* cup cold water 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 tablespoon grenadine syrup (optional) 1 envelope Dream Whip whipped topping mix 3 egg whites Dash of salt Vi cup sugar Ibaked 9-inch pie shell, cooled Combine egg yolks and 1 cup

water in top of double boiler. Add Vi cup sugar. Cook and stir over boiling water until mixture coats spoon. Remove from heat; add gelatin and stir until dissolved. Add V* cup cold water, the lemon juice and grenadine. Chill until thick-

ened.

Prepare whipped topping mix as directed on package. Beat egg whites and salt until

Tau Chapter holds Teach-A-Rama Tau Chapter will hold their Teach-A-Rama program Sunday, February 19, at the Christian Theological Seminary, 1000 W. 42nd Street, 3:00 p.m. Options Education will be the programs theme which will feature Don Larson, Chairman of the School Community Action Team and Mrs. Betty Chisley, Area Coordinator. The program purpose is to provide a close look at the options in education program and to enable the public to listen and question any phases of the program which will be implemented this fall in the Indianapolis public schools. Musical selections will be by Mrs. Geraldine Gray and a reception will follow the program. Admission is free. Tau Chapter President is Elizabeth Brown, and Program Chairperson, Sandra Daggs. Local musician chosen for European tour Douglas E. Taylor has recently been notified that he has been selected for membership in the American Musical Ambassadors Band. This highly select concert band, composed of outstanding high school and university students from all over the United States, will tour several European countries next July 14 - August 3. Douglas son of Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Taylor is a member of the North Central High School Band. Mrs. Maxine Lefever, an assistant director with the Purdue University Bands and direcot of the AMA tour, has announced that Professor Kenneth Bloomquist, director of bands at Michigan State v Universeity, will serve as musical conductor for the 1978 AMA tour. The tour group will visit Paris, Lucerne, Lugano, Milan, Venice, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Gouda, Amsterdam, and London. Highlights of the tour will include concerts in the concert halls and parks of Europe.

Sorority’s program Feb. 18 Kappa Epison Rho, Alpha Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, will hold its Founder’s Day program Saturday, Februray 18, at the Atkinson Hotel downtown. A 12 noon luncheon is scheduled and the deadline for reservations has been extended until February 12.
