SHERRY DENISE BLACK BLACK-In loving memory of our dear mother, daughter and sister SHERRY DENISE BLACK who was taken away three years ago on January 2, 1975. It’s been three years Sherry dear, Since God took you away; Three years is quite a long time. But, it seems like yesterday. We hear your laughter everywhere, your footsteps on the stair. We think about you all the time, and wish that you were here. Our hearts are ah, so heavy “We miss you Sherry dear.” If only we could talk to you, Here is what you’d hear us say: We love you darling, and we thank God for lending you for a day. We were so very happy for just seventeen short years. But, now our hearts are broken full of many tears, But, one day we will follow you, When God prepares the way. And then we’ll be together forever more to stay. Sadly missed by: Daughters, Tomica and Teorca Mother, Father, Sisters, Brothers, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Hugh Taylor was born in Greensburg, Kentucky on December 17,1902, and was one of twelve children born to Samuel and Dolly Taylor. He came to Indianapolis at the age of 13 and knew well the meaning of hard work by acquiring several odd jobs as an aid to the family. Making good use of his little spare time, he followed the musical inclinations of his father and brothers and became a self-taught musician. After having saved for several years, he was able to purchase his first instrument - a trombone. As time passed, his musicianship served as a blessing in that it was the family’s main support during the Depression at which time he played on the W.P.A. Although he was a selftaught musician, he gained enough proficiency to play with the Hagen Bech Wallace Circus and the Sells Flots Circus. Among the other musical aggregations with which he played were the famed Brown Buddies Orchestra, Wheeler Moran Orchestra, Dudley Storms Orchestra, YMCA Band and the A.E.A.O.N.M.S. Persian Temple #46 Band. His musical ability and associations enabled him to our most of the ten 49 states, Canada and Mexico. After retiring from his fulltime musical career, he was employed for 17 years at Wallace Murray Corporation, formerly known as Schwitzer Cummins Corporation, and retired from there ; n 1967. On July 3,1928 he was joined in marriage to Irene C. Taylor who preceded him in death. To this union was born five children, Mary Deloris, Hugh, Jr., GUbert Leon, Ronald Eugene and Robert Maurice, who also preceded him in death. He was a deacon at Christ Missionary Baptist Church before uniting with Mt. Paran Baptist Church. Taylor also held memberships in the Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine Persian Temple #46, the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Constantine Consistory #25, the Southern Crossd
