Missionary Day will be observed at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Missionary Day will be observed at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, 629 E. 11th Street on Sunday, January 23rd all day. The main speaker at 11:00 a.m. will be Mrs. Geraldine Bradford past president of the Chicago Conference Branch of Women’s Missionary. She has held the offices of 1st and 2nd vice president of the Indiana conference branch. She has been president of her church’s missionary society at the Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church at Terre Haute, IN since 1963. She is the widow of the late John Bradford who pastored and also was a presideing elder of the Indiana Conference for many years. At 3:30 p.m. speaker will be Rev. William Lee, minister of Westparkview Baptist Church. There will be a salad spread between the morning and afternoon services. Rev. Leonard N. Williams is the pastor and Mrs. Zelma Highbaugh is the president of the church’s missionary society. FREDERICK D. PINNER Final rites for Frederick Douglas Pinner, 50, 1222 Harlan, were held Saturday, January 15, in Olivet Baptist Church, where he was a member. He died Tuesday, January 11 in Veterans Administration Hospital. Pinner, a Navy veteran of World War II, retired last April after 28 years at the Chrysler plant on Tibbs. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 550. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Billie Jo Highbaugh; a son, Vincent; mother, Mrs. Lottie M. Pinner; brothers, Samuel Ellis, Levi, John, Lloyd, Steven, and Ronald Pinner; and sisters, Mrs. Edmonia Bingham, Mrs. Laverne Margaret Walker, and Mrs. Roselyn Aretha Mitchell.

A native of Pulaski, Miss., Mrs. Adams moved to Indianapolis seven months ago. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at Pulaski. Survivors include three sons, Jimmie, John, and Curtis Adams: a daughter, Miss Vera C. Adams, and a sister, Mrs. Arey Grey. MARY JONES Services for Mrs. Mary Jones, 76, 946 Edgemont, were January 15 at Stuart Mortuary. She died January 13 at University Heights Hospital. Mrs. Jones was a member of 25th Street Baptist Church where she taught the young adult Sunday School Class. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Anna Major and Louetta Benson; two sons, Harvey and Albert Jones, a sister, Vallie a. Hollins, and a brother, Ray Cross. NELLIE S. COLE Mrs. NeUie S. Cole, 67, 5112 N. Kenwood, died Monday, January 10, in Methodist Hospital. Services were held Saturday, January 15, at Eastern Star Baptist Church. She was a cook 15 years at the Universtiy Club. Survivors include her husband, Cleveland T. Cole; and two sisters, Mable F. Washington and Julia F. Means. BENNIE L. IRVIN Bennie L. Irvin, 49, 3717 Wallace, was buried January 17 following rites at Shiloh Baptist Church, of which he was a member. He died January 13 at Wishard Memorial Hospital. Mr. Irvin, a native of Hopkinsville, Ky., lived h ere 20 years and was a machine operator 10 years at Peerless

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carolyn Ifvin; a son, Bennie Irvin; three daughters, Karen, Shonika and Shontel Irvin; his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Woodson. JIFF YOUNG JR. World War II Army veteran Jeff Young Jr., 65, 1927 Mansfield was buried January 17 following services at King & King Funeral Home. He died January 13 at Wishard Memorial Hospital. Survivors include seven daughters, Nancy Graham, Jean Williams, Rowena Averitte, Florence, Leslie, Lorraine and Denise Young.
MRS. KATHERINE E. BRANSFORD Mrs.' Katherine Elizabeth Bransford, 52-year-old devoted wife of Wyatt L. Bransford Sr. and ardent member of Zion Tabernacle Church, died January 16 at her home, 1900 W.
65th.
Rites were conducted January 19 at Zion Tabernacle, which she loved dearly, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Elder Joseph D. Farris, pastor of the church, officiated. * Mrs. Bransford was a native of Indianapolis and a member of the church’s Senior Usher Board. She belonged to Christ Temple Apostolic Church before joining Zion Tabernacle. Survivors include, besides her husband, a son, Wyatt L. Bransford Jr.; twin daughters, Janice Kebede and Jenniece Buckley; her mother, Mrs. Rose Vertner; a brother, Melvin Vertner of Anderson. DELIA MOORLAND Mrs. Bluford (Delia) Moorland, 93, died Friday, January 7, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Minnie Hawkins, where she usually spent her winters. A former resident of Indianapolis, Mrs. Moorland had lived in Cleveland since 1921. Memorial services were held Monday night, January 10, at Grundy’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. R.T. Andrews, Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church, in charge and Rev. Benjamin Sims assisting. ( Mrs. Anna Clay was soloist accompanied by firs. Vernie Newcomb. The funeral was held in Cleveland in the Miles Heights Community which she helped build and in the Canaan Baptist Church which she was influential in the organization of more than 50 years ago. Mrs. Moorland was an ardent member of Canaan Baptist Church, a charter member of the choir, and, because of her activity and exemplery membership, was considered “mother” of the church. Survivors include a foster daughter, Mary Coles: a foster son, James Gary; a sister, Minnie Hawkins, and three brothers, Thomas, Harrison and Hobert Crawford.
PEARL WILLIS Rites were conducted January 17 at Bethel AME Church fosr Mrs. Pearl Willis, 80, 756 W. 26th, who died January 14 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Willis was an easily recognized member of Bethel, being active in its women’s chorus and a former president of the church federation. She was a member of the Birthday Club, Silver Leaf Art Club and a former matron of Pride of the West Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Alphonse Willis, and a daughter, Louise Williams. FRANK MOORE Frank Moore. 48, 738 W. 25th, died January 12 at the home of an aunt, Ruth P. James, 2602 Baltimore. Services were January 15 at Grundy Memorial Chapel. Mr. Moore taught four years in Indianapolis Public Schools before retiring in 1975. He was a Korean War, Air Force veteran and a 1961 graduate of Sherwood Music School in Chicago. He was a member of First Baptist Church of North Indianapolis. WILLIAM H. CALDWELL World War II veteran, William Henry Caldwell, 51, 2802 Sangster, died January 13 at West 10th Street Veterans Hospital. Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Williams Funeral Home. Mr. Caldwell was an employe of National Lead Company. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Henrietta Caldwell; three sons, William H. Caldwell Jr., Charles Leon and Ronald Steven Caldwell, all of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia McCray of Indianapolis and Miss Viola Elizabeth Caldwell, Dallas, Texas, and his mother, Mrs. Viola Caldwell, Indianapolis.
