Time did not permit all her friends to entertain her because she took a short jaunt to Chicago to visit a nephew and his family, Mr. andMrs. Homer Slaughter. Mrs. Kelly also visited a classmate and longtime friend, Mrs. Tommie Austin, Detroit, Michigan. Among the other courtesies extended her was a patio and dinner, party held by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anderson. Also, Mr. and Mrs. Elzy McReynolds hosted a dinner and theater party at Beef and Boards for Mrs. Kelly.
