PLANNER HOUSE ENTERTAINS BUSINESS LEADERS, Mrs. Lionel F. Artis, secretary of the Planner House Board of Directors, serves William S. Vaughn, chairman of the Board of Eastman Kodak Company, during a reception for Mr. Vaughn and other business leaders of Rochester, N.Y. The businessman toured Planner House and project sites of the local social agency Friday of last week. Eugene N. Beesley, president of Eli Lilly and Company, was host to the Rochester group during the visit.

Blue is the pastor, on Wednesday, July 26 at 7:00 p.m. After a short business session Rev. Adair will show some historical pictures. The public is invited. Jim Page, who resides at the estate, returned home Monday, July 3, from the hospital at Glasgow, Ky., where he had been a patient for over a , month after a serious opera- ! tion, just in time for the celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Page and family and John Henry Hayes of Horse Cave, received the guest as they arrived. Motoring down from Indianapolis were other members of the Page family: Mrs. Rachealle Mae Roberts Hoosier and son, William, a carrier for The Recorder: Mrs. Susie Hubbard; Hugh Hubbard Jr.; Mrs. Myrtle Page Patterson and Clarence Hayes. Old time friends at Horse ! Cave were: Mrs. Beulah Hall and family; Mrs. Lola Barlow; Everett Carpenter and many others. Enjoying the festivities also were Miss Denise Page; Miss Lorraine Page: Mrs. Margaret Bradley; her husband, William and children and the grand children and great grandchildren of Jim Page. This was a four day affair. A barbecue cookout of lamb, chickens, ribs and much more were the main features on the fourth of July menu. Food and refreshments v?ere served buffet style. Sgt and Mrs. Lewis Sheperd of Fort Knox, Ky., and their four children, Denise, Wallace, Gary and Tommy spent Sunday, July 16 with their parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown, of 236 Buckingham Drive. Sgt. Lewis is a career man at Fort Knox and Mrs. Lewis is a Medical Records Librarian at the Fort.

Bandives Club treat children to Sunday picnic The Bandives Club entertained their children with a picnic, at Columbia Park, in Lafayette, Ind., Sunday, July 16. Members and children met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen A. Grundy, 6503 Oakview Drive and motored to the park. The children enjoyed the amusement area, Zoological Gardens ,and last but not least the picnic area. They returned home tired but happy. Mr. and Mrs. Willie R. Rogers of 3551 N. Rural announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Bennie L. Rogers and the attendants for her wedding to be held in August to Morris Glenn Bradley. Mr. Bradley is the son of Mrs. Julia Bradley, of 3120 N. College and William Bradley of 2551 Ralston. The date for the wedding is Saturday, August 5 at 6:30 p. m. It will be held at the College Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Otis W. Armistead presiding. In announcing the attendants for the wedding, the flower girl, Rene Ward, niece of the groom was named. The ring bearer will be Tony Wade who is the nephew of the groom. The matron of honor will be the sister of the bride, Mrs. Wilma Jones and maid of honor will be Miss Barbara Burrus. • The bridesmaids named to fill Ine wedding party are Miss Wanda Rogers, the bride’s sister; Miss Diane Westmoreland; Miss Marvia Keno; Miss Mary Peterson and Miss Dorothy Coleman. ^^ The best man will be Thomas Alexander and groomsmen named to complete the wedding party will be Reginald Jones; Jesse Bradley; Raymond Tandy; William Taylor; Allen Bridgeforth; Charles Fox; Fred Bradley and Cornell Brooks.

The color scheme for the wedding is pink and white. Miss Rogers is a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, and attended Indiana University Extension, is a member of the Cameos Club and a member of Cyllege Avenue Baptist Church. She is currently employed at the Eli

Lilly and Company. Mr. Bradley is a graduate of Crispus Attucks High School and attended Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls, Idaho. He is employed at Chrysler Corporation and has served in Korea as Specialist Fourth Class in the U.S. Army.

They visited Lincoln’s birthplace in Hodgensville, “My Ole Kentucky Home” at Boristown and Mammoth Cave at Mammoth Cave, Ky.
