Roofers Use Squares New York (UPI) — "Squares” aren’t necessarily people who can’t do the twist or the frug. To a roofer a "square” is a unit of measurement. An area of 10 by 10 feet (100 square feet) is the yard stick used to determine the amount of materials needed to cover a roof.

Shoe Too Tight? Try Hot Knife Handle If the heel of a shoe is too tight for comfort, try moistening the inside of the back of the shoe where the binding is sewn. Then heat the handle of an old metal knife on your stove, and when this is hot, pick it up with a good thick potholder and press the hot handle back and forth over the moistened part of the heel. This usually smooths out any roughness there and also slightly stretches this area of of the shoe.

Mlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll AD NOTES By ELEANOR September 19-25 has been designated as Fall Millinery Week. Why not surprise that special person In your life with a new fall hat? Special Thanks to one of the Northside Cab driven. I lost my billfold the other day and this gentleman found it and returned it. I was only sorry that I could not give him more of a reward. The Kiwanls International Organiation celebrates Kid’s Day on September 25. Does your group have a special day for this? An extra thanks to the P. J. Molenhour Realty Company for the good words along the way. The month of September is American Lighting Fixture Month. Have you up-dated your lighting fixtures? * * * Classified Advertising can be a lot of work, but with advertisers as wonderful as those we have in The Indianapolis Recorder, it’s a lot of fun. I would like to thank all of you for being so considerate while I’m learning to put ads together and trying to get the copy right (which I don’t always do). I shall really try to do better. * • * When you add someone to your staff, why not call me so I can let others know. Speaking of adding persons to staffs, James Oglesby is no longer affiliated with the G. K. Warren Realty Company. He is now on the staff of the Grady B. Hinkle Realty Company. Here at the Recorder, our staff has decreased by one Gabriel James. Mr. James left for the Army last week. Did you know that the Walt Howard Realty Company has moved? They are now located at 3747 N. Central. * * * Are you using your Zip Code yet? What about your all number telephone number? * * ♦ There are only 91 days left until Christmas, so there are 97 days left in this year.
