Mt. Helm Baptist Church honors Pastor's 22nd Anniversary
REV. W. D. EDWARDS The members of Mt. Helm Baptist Church, 1660 Yandes street, will honor their pastor and wife in 22nd Anniversary services to be held October 12 through 18. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening and the following pastors, their congregations and singers are scheduled : Monday, October 12—Rev. J. Earl King, Ebenezer Baptist Church; Tuesday. October 13— Rev. N. E. Vincent, Northside Men's Day program Sunday at- Eastside Christian Center The R. K. Smith Men’s Fellowship of the East Side Christian Center will present its second annual Men’s Day Program Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Glen Alston, well known lay minister and a member of St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church, will be feature speaker for the program at the Center, 1507 N. Arsenal. Several guest singing groups will share in the program. Charles Watts, president of the organization, invites men who are interested in fellowship and community to be a part of the group. It is made up of men from different faiths and from all walks of life. The goal of this fellowship is not for a large organization, but rather for a group of dedicated, committed persons who are seeking to grow personally and in service to others. Rev. Paul Crafton is sponsor of the group and Mrs. Edna Martin, executive director of the Center.

Mary W. Stewart, noted evangelist, to appear here The nationally known evan-> gelist Rev. Mary Watson Stewart will soon appear in two Indianapolis churches to conduct revival services. She is new in a great campaign in Clenridge, New Jersey, this is her third consecutive campaign in that church. This great gospel preacher and sister is perhaps one of the most magnetic evangelist before the American public and is no stranger to the churches of Indianapolis. Rev. Mrs. Stewart will open her Indianapolis campaign at Coppin Chapel A.M.E. Church. 3201 N. Capitol Ave., Sunday, October 18, 1964, Rev. Basil Foley, pastor. She will preach each night weekly for two weeks. On Sunday, November 1, 1964, she will begin two weeks Revival meetings at St. John A.M.E. Church, 17th & Columbia Ave. Both churches are making extensive preparations for the meetings and will be assisted by pastors, choirs and congregations of other churches. The Rev. John W. Wright is beginning his second year’s pastorate at St. John Church. House to house visitations and daily prayer meetings will be conducted. Every one is invited.

For a number of years, the minister, Rev. R. H. Peoples, and members of Second Christian Church, had dreamed of the day when the church would secure a Youth Center. They felt that such a center would be beneficial to not only young people of the church but youths of the community also. On Sunday, Sept. 27, this dream was realized when the church held open house for its new center which has room for six classes. Activities will include craft classes, weekday study sessions, scouting, recreation and social. In the future, there will be a day care nursery for working mothers. The Youth Center is under the direction of the church's Christian Education Dept. Mrs. Elizabeth Enix is chairman and Miss Rosa V. Brown, director. The Center is located in the 2900 block of N. Illinois, each evening and at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Guest ministers appearing:
