Rome Tea" scheduled lor Saturday, Aug. 4, in the garden of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Thomas, 759 Berkley Road, will be a travelogue presented by Mrs. R. T. Andrews Sr. Hours of the tea are from 6 pm. till 8 p.m. Mrs. Andrews’ talk will center around her recent tour of the Holy Land and Rome, Italy. She will be presented by the Progressive Club of Mt. Mrs. Catherine Woodard, student at Cordie King’s Castle, will h^d 25 hostesses at the serving table. Miss Retha McKee and Miss Ann Haskins have been invited to assist at the table, along witn Mrs. Moses McKissack IV, member of the Progressive Club.
Mrs. Bertha White, president of the club, announced that the public is invited to be a part of this occasion.
Pair Repeats Vows in Chapel At Mt. Zion
Mrs. Jessie M. Woods of 3240 N. Kenwood and Marcus Cook of 3651 N. Capitol were united in marriage in the wedding chapel of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Vows were repeated Saturday afternoon, July 21, before Rev. R. T. Andrews, pastor of Mt. Zion, who officiated. Mr and Mrs. Cook are residing at 2323 W. 66th.

tnANCES CLARK New Jerseyan Featured Indianapolis and area piano teachers wi'.l attend a free one-day Frances Clark Workshop Monday, Aug. 6, at L. S. Ayres and Com{w. Washington.
A feature of the gathering, one of 195 workshops being presented this summer throughout the United Slates and Canada, will be the premier presentation of eight new books in the “Frances Clark Library for Piano Students.” Miss Doris Martin, a supervisor of p'ano pedagogy at the New School, will conduct the workshop. Sponsor is Gertrude M. Butz of L. S.’ Ayres.
A social-business gathering was hosted by the ANECANS Sunday at their President’s Tea in the American Fletcher National Bank. The group’s purpose that of promoting a series of activities in commemoration of the 100th year of the Emancipation Proclamation, was related'by Rev. Melvin Girton. state president. The Young Adult Chapter members of the American Negro Emancipation Centennial Authority were introduced to guests by Robert Williams, state advisor. Mrs. Bes ie Jackson and Mrs. Inez Ingram of Columbus honored the gathering with dramatic readings.
From a long buffet table guests were served delicious strawberry punch by the hostesses, headed by Mrs. Leola Gachaw. An assortment of tiny tea cookies, Soanish peanuts, and candy mints completed the serving.
The unique centerpiece was designed and created especially for the occasion by Miss Rita Boone, social committee chairman.
A “Bon Voyage” reception in honor of Rev. Clinton M. Marsh has been planned for Sunday, Aug. 5, at 5 p.m. in the Fall Creek Parkway YMCA. The pastor of Witherspoon United Presbyterian Church will leave here August 12 for the Mindal Ecumenical Center at Kitwe, Northern Rhodesia, for a special conference. He was appointed by the Presbytery's national board of missions to take
the trip.
Appearing on the program will be Dr. John N. Fox, executive secretary of the United Presbyterian Synod office; Dr. Grover Hartman, executive secretary of the Indiana Council of Churches, and Rev. James C. Cummings, president of the Indianapolis Min-
isterial Association.
Music will be sung by the combined choirs of Witherspoon and the Dett Chorale group.
Leisurely conversation among members and guests completed the tea.
Interested parties are invited to attend the ANECANS’ meeting Saturday in the Campus Club of the Campus Apartments.

Her fiance is presently stationed in the finance division of the United States Armed Forces at Fort Knox, Ky. Sgt. DeWitt recently returned from Europe following three and a half years of service in Germany and France. He attended Los Angeles City College. After a year’s residence in Indianapolis, the future bride and groom will move to Berkeley, Calif.
