And as always, from looks of the guest list, their affair drew many top drawer socialites of the city to stage one of the “swingingest” dances of the summer season. Although each brotner, made arrangements for his table decoration, the Kappa emblem and a large diamond, designed and made by Leroy Sharpe, was placed in

a strategic spot, along with a red and white nanner reading: “Indianapolis — Alumni.” The delectable ball was planned to please even the most discriminating socialite, it was reported, and the serene atmosphere of the ballroom further set the pace for joviality. On hand to provide the good tunes for dancing feet was the Dudley Storm Band, accompanied by a vocalist, who guests say kept them on the floor from the begin-

Doing the host chores at the dance besides those previously mentioned were Messrs, and Mmes. Lenyer Rankin. Jesse Carter, Pierce Cody, William Taylor, Sea Ferguson, Wilbur Grant, Albert Spurlock, Mark Batties, and Drs. and Mmes. Ezra D. Alexander, and J. Leon Simms. School 87 Cited Second Time For Stomp Program For the second consecutive year, School 87 has had the honor oi winning the first place award for selling the largest amount of U.S. Saving Stamps and Bonds of any school in the city. Stamps were sold each Wednesday by Mrs. Luella Duerson and Mrs. Mary Winters, parents of the school, and Mrs. Edythe Walker, teacher representative. Mrs. Vivian Marbury is principal. During 1961-62, pupils and teachers have purchased $5,214.15 worth of Stamps and 151 Bonds.

Cox, presently a home economics teacher at School 17, will go the inspiration she has afforded the many students whom she has come in contact with. Mrs. Cox taught 35 years in the Indianapolis public schools and for 25 years was at Crispus Attacks. She served as cafeteria manager upon the school's opening and taught at Schools 17, 26, and 64. Before coming to Indianapolis, Ihe educator taught 10 years at some of the leading colleges including Prairie View in Texas and Virginia State in Petersburg. She is a native of Tuskegee, Ala., where her father was one of the pioneer teachers at TusBooker T. Washington.

26 Students Of Miss Seaths Heard In Piano Recital

Twenty-six students of Miss Delores Seaths, faculty member of the special education division of the Jordan College of Music, Butler University, were presented in a piano recital Sunday evening at the college. Parents, relatives and friends heard the students play. Miss Seaths has been praised for her “exceptional” pupils. She has been

teaching there for three years and will give organ lessons in September. Miss Seaths will receive her Master's Degree in Music History and Literature from Butler University in January.
