Last Sunday Allen Chapel AME Church welcomed their new minister and his family. Rev. and Mrs. J. Solomon Benn III. Rev. Benn and his wonderful family came here from South Bend where he served as pastor of Olivet AME Church. He helped the church there go forth and progress in kingdom building. In South Bend he was a member of the Council of Churches and Indiana Council of Churches where he was on the board of directors. Rev. Benn will continue as a part of the council while serving in Indianapolis. He is also a member of the NAACP, served as a member of the board of commission of the FEPC of South Bend and vicepresident of the organization. In his religious work, he built a church valued at $200,000. The new pastor led two different churches in Illinois cities for TVs* years. LEADERSHIP seems to run in the Benn family. His grandfather was Dr. J. S. Benn. His father, Dr. J. S. Benn II, is pastoring in Philadelphia. The new minister is a graduate of Wilberforce University where he received his BA degree and later received his MA degree at Columbia University in New York. He also did graduate work at Garrett College and Northwestern University and taught at Wilberforce for several years. Assisting him in his work will be his charming wife, Mrs. Flora A. Benn and their children, Victoria Dawn, George Henry and James S. Benn IV. WE EXTEND a welcome to Rev. and Mrs. Benn and pray that God will bless their coming to our

city.
