for a good job superbly done, william Goetz production of “They Came to Cordura” co-stars Richard Conte, Michael Callan and Dick York. The picture was filmed jrt Eastman Color and Cinemascope from a screenplay by Ivan Moffat and Robert Rossen based on the Glendon Swartbout best-selling novel. Mr. Rossen directed the Qoetz-Banoda production, a Co-

lumbia picture.

“They Came to Cordura” is set in the Mexico of 1916, when a U. S. expeditionary force was pairsuing Pancho Villa and his men. But, with the excitement and action so colorful a time and scene admits—and this includes one of the most spectacular cavalry charges ever brought to the screen — “They Came to Cordura” essentially is a study of human beings in conflict, of emotions under strain.

ONE WOMAN among six men! Rita Hayworth stars in the William Goetz production, "They Came to Cordura," with Gary Cooper, Van Heflin, Tab Hunter (above, left), Richard Conte (right), Michael Callan and Dick York in the Columbia picture, which starts Sunday at the Walker.
