Mother of 8 Killed While Attending Funeral of Uncle MILWAUKEE (ANR) — A Kansat City mother of eight children who came here last week to attend the funeral of a relative, herself met death violently. She was shot to death by a 32-year-old male cousin, Albert Johnson of Topeka, Kans., who also injut ed Mrs. Violet Munn, 36, of Merced, Calif., a cousin of the dead woman. All three were in Milwaukee to attend the funeral of an uncle, police said The victim was Mrs. Nermer Lee Johnson, 39. She was -shot :wice in the upper bcuk as she Touched behind a bed on which her cousin, Mrs. Mumn and M/rs. Munn’s two children were sleeping. Mrs. Munn was shot in her right

thigh.

Johnson, who told police he was a cousin of the dead woman, remained at the scene and surrendered to police. Detectives said Johnson told them “1 couldn’t stand seeing her with other men ” The principals in the shooting came here to attend the funeral ol Earnest McKenzie, 69. After arriving here, the relatives drank in a tavern below the rooming house where they were staying, police said. Johnson waived preliminary hearing on charges of first degree murder and ea using injury by conduct regardless of life. He was bound over to the municipal court for trial under $33,000 bond.
