Moriah Baptist Church, Tuesday, July 16th, 1940. Under his leadership we the members and friends worked together and worshiped God, un tiringly and erected a most modern edifice in 1949 at a cost of more than $35,000.00. The entire indebtedness was liquidated March 28, 1960, and on the fourth Sunday in May, 1960 the mortgage was burnedi Rev. Johnson, with his faithful wife, has proven to be a great leader. Robert Bowles .... < • Funeral services for Robert Bowles h ad been a resident died June 30 In Marion County General Hospital, were held July 5 in Willis Mortuary, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Bom at Russellville, Ky., Mr. Mr. Bowles had been a resident of Indianapolis 53 years, and was employed . 40 years by N.Y.C. Railroad Co., Beech Grove Shops, before retirement In 1958. He was a member of Garfield Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs.. Mary Dodson, Mrs. Lucille Lowe and Mrs. Phyllis J. Buckner; a son, Howard L.
