Brigitte Bardot Appears as Slave Girl in 'Helen of Troy' at Walker Sun.
Brigitte Bardot, pert and talented young French actress, was the girl chosen to play the slave girl Andraste, in Warner Bros.’ CinemaScope production of “Helen of Troy,” re-released epic coming Sunday to the Walker Theater. This was Brigitte's first American picture, although she has been seen many times in imported French productions. She has now become as familiar to American audiences as in her native
country.
Brigitte was only 19 when she appeared in “Helen of Troy,” and has- the alluring figure of a French model, which is exactly what she was before the movies snapped her up—-a willowy five feet four and 114 pounds light. Her Jong hair, which she likes to wear in a pony tail, is reddish chestnut, and her eyes are deep hazel. “They turn as blaek as a phonograph record when I’m angry,” she says. Brigitte was born in Paris in 1934. Her father is a French industrialist, but as her mother spent most of her chilcmood in .Milan, the actress considers herself both Italian and French and speaks both languages fluently. “Helen of Troy” stars Ilossana Podesta and Jack Sernas and was directed by Robert Wise.
These two headliners are just what the doctor ordered to spruce you up and make you feel gay over the weekend and the special Saturday afternoon matinee. Miss Johnson’s meaty blues stylings have already endeared her to hundreds of Naptown pleasure lovers, who enjoy the way she puts over her numbers with that boom boom feeling. She has what it takes to please any audience and is proving it nitely at the Pink
Food'e.
Fabulous Fabalena returns to the bistro by popular demand, having proved herself a top entertainer who knows what to give her public. She is tall.tan and terriffc . . . Just the gal to chase the blues awayv Other stars shining on the stardudded bill are the fabulous Four Sounds, Baron Harris, and Melvin Rhyne and his combo.
