Zion Tabernacle To Honor Elder and Mrs. G. C. Mills APPRECIATION SERVICES honoring Elder and Mrs. G. C. M)ills, pastor and wife of Zion Tabernacle, 33rd and Arsenal Avenue will be held Thursday night, May 12th thru Sunday afternoon. May 15th. Appearing on the program Thursday and Friday nights will be pastors and singing groups from Ft. Wayne, Clinton, Logansport, Kokomo, Richmond and Indianapolie. Saturday night Elder Odee Akins and choir of Chicago, 111., will be guest. Elder Akins, will also speak Sunday morning. On Sunday afiernoon, Elder Roger Tobey and congregation of Bethany Temple, also Elder James Jones and choir of Peoples Temple will appear on the program. REV. R. T. ANDREWS Rev. R. T. Andrews Sr., will share honors with his wife when the members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in recognition of his twen-ty-one years of courageous and outstanding service, set aside Suniiav. May 15th, as “RICHARD T ANDREWS’ DAY.’’ Steadily and occasionally dramatically, the Rev. Andrews has consistently worked for greater expansion in the spiritual and physical advancement of Mt. Zion Baptist Church: and as a result, the membership lias been greatly increased, the church program has been opanded to insure better trained Christian workers and a more efficient operation of. the church auxiliaries. Several ministers have been ordained and a large number of inspired Christian men have become deacons under his leadership. Under the physical expansion program, a new edifice is being erected at 35th and Graceland Avenue and will be occupied by the first of September, this year. Rev. Andrews’ activities have

He is currently serving as president of the General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Indiana, Ine., vice president of the National Baptist Convention, Inc., executive board member of the State Pastor’s Conference, board member of the Christian Palestint Committee, member of the Indianapolis Federation of Churches and Trustee of the American Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. E. J. Odom, pastor of the 25th Street Baptist Church will be the guest speaker at the afternoon service which begins at 3:30. Mrs. Elizabeth Brown will serve as Master of Ceremonies and music will be furnished by the 25th Street Church choirs. Mr,s Elizabeth Shepherd is chairman of the committee.
