Foreign Students To Aid Clean-Up In Tract No. 20

NAME'S THE SAME, THOUGH: To give you some idea os to what awaits you at the 9th annual Easter Parade, Manday night, April 18, here's a sneak preview as seen at the show of last year. This annual project will be shown in the Crispus Attacks Auditorium and is under the auspices of the Women Sponsors of the Recorder Charities, Inc., and is designed to honor the memory of deceased Sponsors, Mrs. Mary Ellen Terry, April 17, 1953; Mrs. Clarissa W. Covington, Nov. 13, 1953; Mrs. Mayme L. Battles July 22, 1957, and Mrs. Fannie Caldwell Stewart, Nov. 13, 1957. The proceeds from this affair will be used to provide a $500 scholarship to a worthy student to honor their memory. All girls and boys who will take part in this 1960 Easter Parade were urged by the director, Mrs. Louise Terry Betties, to attend rehearsals Friday afternoon, April 8 at 3:45 p. m. in the Attacks auditorium. The director is urging the sponsors to notify the children and their parents that the Saturday morning reHftarsat will follow this schedule: 9-10 a. m. — Tweens, 8-12 years, Miss Margaret Holdier and Mrs. William Wilson, co-chairmen; 10-11 a. m., Tots, 2-7 years, Mrs. R. A group of students from six foreign countries, all students at Indiana University, will spearhead a spring clean-up campaign in Indianapolis’ Census Tract 20. They will assist the people in that area in cleaning away debris and encourage painting and cleaning of premises. Project community leaders include Mesdames Eliza SadJer and Idella Black; James Mullens, Wal‘er Bean, principal of School Nou 23, and David Lewis, principal'of School No 17. Students participating are John E. A. Assedri. Uganda; Marlene DeAbreu David, Brazil; Zacarias Vquino Ortiz, Paraguay; Mohammed Adbu Haye Saleem, Pakitan; El Tayib Saeed.
