Law Student Seeks GOP Nod For House Seat A 28-year-old law studejit interested in governmental reform, especially in the office of county commissioner, is seeking the Republican nomination for a seat in the House of Representatives in the Indiana General Assembly. Anthony J. Adolfi, 4327 N. Kitley, said if elected he will propose and fight for passage of legislation that will eliminate the county-commis-sioner form of government in Marion County. “The present form of county government with three commissioners is inefficient, ineffective, and a travesty on the taxpayers. Much of the commissioners’ time seems to be spent in back-bitting, haggling among themselves and buckpassing responsibility for their action,” he asserted. “I BELIEVE it would be best to have one commissioner or a countv manager instead of the terrible triumvirate system of running things. This man could be sppointed or elected. Regardless of the manner in which he is selected he should have the primary responsibility for the management of ihe county. “This would place county government in line with most government where we have single executives such as the President, the Governor, and the Mayors of our cities. “The main purpose is to make county government honest, efficient and respectable — three

Gertrude Gartin Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Gartin, 1840 W Miller, were held March 10 in First Baptist Church, West Indianapolis, with burial in New Crown Cemetery. She died March 5 in General Hospital. A 75-year-o'd native of Lemdom, Ky., Mrs. Gartin had lived here 53 years, and was a member of the Baptist church and West Indianapolis Community Club. Survivors include the husband, Richard Gartin; a son, Stanley Gartin; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Harris, and 11 grandchildren, 23 greatgrandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, all of Indianapolis. Nathaniel Spencer Funeral services for Nathaniel H Spencer, 40, who died March 11 in Marion County General Hospital, were held March 15 at Stuart Mortuary, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. He was bom at Carl Ridge, Ky., and had lived in Indianapolis 11 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and attended the Church of Christ.
