She holds degrees from Kentucky State College, Northwestern University and has made further studies at Ohio State University. In May, 1959, she went with 23 other Methodists on a Mission Tour of Africa, and a limited portion of Europe. Presently this dynamic servant of God is a member of the Board of Missions and Woman’s Division of the Methodist Church. She is Chairman of the Standing Committees of the Library Service. UWF President Speaks March 24 The Indiananolis Chapter of United World Federalists has an important meeting planned for Thursday, March 24. Dr. Charles C. Price, national president of UWF, will speak in Broadway •Methodist Church, Community Room, at 8 p.m., on “The Challenge of the Nuclear Age”. Dr. Price received a Ph. D. degree in chemistry from Harvard University in 1936. He assumed his present duties as director of John Harrison Laboratory of Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania in 1954 and held many offices in the UWF before becoming its national president in 1959. This is an opportunity to hear from an outstanding spokesman what the Federalists are doing and what they have to offer to help achieve world peace.

Conference Dates Set By AKA's Four Indiana chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority will be hostesses to all the chapters in central region, April 15, 16 and 17 in the Sheraton-Lincoln Hotel. Sorority members from Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky will attend the regional conference. Mrs. Anetta Lawson is the regional director for the central region and will preside over the conference Chapter representatives serving on the planning committee are Ruby Woodson, Alpha Mu Omega; Catherine Jones, Alpha Eta Omega; Patricia Beeler, Kappa, and Maxine Thurston. Tau Four national projects of the sorority that will receive special attention during the conference are the American Council on Human Rights, undergraduate scholarships and graduate foreign fellowships, housing projects for undergraduates ana the national body, and the health project dedicated to research and local community programs. Recorder Reader Takes Subscription For 42nd Year Shelby Gibson. 2407 Ralston, a -etired worker from the building trades and former union member, reports he has been a subscriber io The Recorder for 42 years on paying up his yearly subscription. Mr. Gibson was born in Mississippi and has lived in the city, in the same house at the Ralston address, since 1918.
