Mrs. Fannie D. Jewell and Mrs. Erma D. Taylor are two good reasons why "Women's Day" at Bethel AME Church will be a grand success when it climaxes Sept. 13. This is the second time Mrs. Jewell has been selected by the official board of the church to serve as general chairman, having served previously in 1954. She was selected to serve general chairman because of her charming personality, her busi-ness-like manner, her spontaneous friendliness and her fine ability for leadership. M*r. Jewell is a senior stewarr 1 of the church and president of the Young Adult Fellowship Forum. She a’so serves as a volunteer office v'orker on the special church bulletin. She is past matron of Purity Chapter No. 51, OES, past grand editor of the Prince Hall Grand Chapter and is now employed as bookkeeper in the Center Township Trustees’
office.
Wi’h her talent for organizing, she has set up a network through her committees to make sure that, from every source, a search is made for talented women participants in preparation for the great
day.
Mrs. Taylor, co-chairman very competently assisting Mrs. Jewell, is a teacher in the city school system, having taught for a number of years at School No. 87. She will begin teaching at School No. 52 this month A very loyal member of Bethel, she serves as counselor for Girl Scours Brownie Troop No. 929 and Intermediate Troop No. 935. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa sorority. She was selected because of her pleasing personality, her excellent qualities of resourcefulness and her ability to work with people. She will serve as master of cere:nonies. Evangelist Mary Watson Stewart of Detroit will be guest speaker of the day. and Miss Hazel Ward will be guest soloist.
