Meeting new people is usually a delightful experience, and when they’re as nice as Dr. and Mrs. Alfonso D. Holliday the pleasure is multiplied. The Hollidays were introduced to a small group of the younger set Saturday night at an infotmal buffet dinner party by Mr. and Mrs. Lionel F. Artis. Here from Gary while he internes at General Hospital, they shared the spotlight with their new daughter, Kathy Ann,, bom June 25. Holliday, a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity, graduated from the Indiana University Medical School last June, while Mrs. Holiday is a graduate of Cushing Academy, Ashburnham, Mass., and has topped that academ.c training off with a year of dress designing at the Nvart Academy, Detroit. Beautiful weather is anticipated eagerly by members and friends of the Colonial Matrons Social and Literary club for the weekend. The popular group plans to entertain a large number of persons with a garden party Saturday at the home of Mrs. Maggie Mae Clark, 2134 Highland place. The

Dr. Roscoe R. Polin Re-Elected To Head National Musicians Dr. Roscoe R. Polin. prominent iocal musician and public school teacher, was re-elected president of the National Association of Negro Musicians during its 36th annual sessions in Chicago last week.
Another local musician, Mrs. Teresa Saunders, was elected third vice-president, while Mrs. Sadie Hardimart of this city was cited for her outstanding contribution to the advancement of musical culture. David Hardiman was elected second vice-president of the youth division. Dr. Polin and his mother, Mrs. Edna Polin, led a large delegation from Indianapolis which included many visitors as well as official representatives. The Dett Choral club sent as delegates Josiah Person , and Wilbert Johnson, while representing the Indianapolis Music Promoters were the president, Mrs. Helen Laster, Mrs. Eva Turner and Mrs. Saunders. Clara Mae Gaston To Be Sept. Bride Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Gaston, 734 West 24th street, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Clara Mae, to Sidney Franklin.
