The hoy is really good and should prove a hit in the Windy f’ity. The dancin' chorus really went to town and rates a great big hand. The adagio dancers were among the best we have ever seen and are still being talked about along the Main Stem. This pair of dancers was worth ;he price of admission alone. <§> In the new picture at the Indiana^ Theater. Met ro-(i,-Idwyn-Mayer has fashioned a tender and moving romance on the dramatic theme that pilots never died. The film stars. Spencer Tracy and Irene Dunne, together for the first time, give the finest characterizations of their long and distinguished careers. Roth Tracv and Miss Dunne are pilots, she is a member of the Ferry Command in England. They are deeply in love bur constantly quarreling because both are reckless in the air and worry each other by their escapades. Finally, Tracy is persuaded to return to the States as an instructor but before he can go he dies a hero— bombing an enemy carrier at the
cost of his life.
Then the film, takes a turn into fantasy. Tracy finds himself in pilots’ “heaven", meeting the “General". played* by Lionel Rarrymore. who tells him he still has a vital job to do. He must help the young pilots just learning to fly and aid them by his unseen presence. Young Van Johnson, a youthful millionaire, is assigned to his care. As he carefully guides the young ster to success as ah airman. . . . against Ids will he begins to like him. When Johnson goes off into combat duty he follows him to
New Guinea.

Although the first exjierience before a movie is traditionally a -Tightening ex|>erience these boys, apparently, were well past such shallow emotion. They said their lines and moved through their ecenes 'as though they were born on a movie set. Where the flyers really starred i however, was in their own element ! —the air. They took off over a j movie camera, each delicately lifting a wing of his plane to clear the camera. They swept hack to “drag" the field at such an altitude i —or lack of altitude—that many actors and members of the camera ; crew dropped to the ground.
