w ANGELO HERNDON NEW YORK—(C)—Angelo Herndon's autobiography, “Let Me Live,” just published by the Random House, received a generous review in the New York Herald Tribune Books last Sunday by Rose C. Field, star reviewer and special writer. ITie critic says: “In ‘Let Me Live’ Herndon tells the story of his life. It is an amazing and deeply stirring chronicle of a youth whose roots reach into the starved ! earth of poverty and racial fears I and humiliations. With the emoi tional undertow that is his herii tage it is small wonder that a plan J of living which offers him brotherhood and equality should have made him sessianic in the task he feels appointed to accomplish. Herndon does not seek martyrdom for he loves life too well but it i is clear from his pages that Herndon can contemplate death with I valour if it will help the cause of 1 the lowly, the disenfranchised and , the defeated.
